The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is composed of 23 experts, who are elected by the States parties. It monitors the implementation of the provisions of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The Committee meets twice a year. The terms of the experts last four years, with only half of the Committee members replaced each time elections take place.
