Engagement of NGOs related to CMW and ICRMW

The NGOs are welcome as observers at the public sessions of the consideration of State reports. Until now, the agenda of previous meetings of the Committee has always included a separate session with the NGOs in which they had the opportunity to present and to discuss specific questions with the Committee members. The representatives of the NGOs can also be invited as provider of resources, for example in order to present a study which can be useful to the Committee.

During the session of April 2006, by the Committee decided that NGOs should be heard for an hour at a session devoted to the final consideration of reports in order to be able to present actual information about the State whose report is considered.

All persons who consider to be victim of a violation of the Convention on Migrant Workers are then invited to acquaint their situation to a national or international NGO which can then transmit the information to the Committee.
